01.11.2006 Calypso has extended its Fairtrade juice range with the addition of 500ml bottles of the apple variety.
The move makes both apple and orange juices available in a choice of 200ml cartons and 500ml PET bottles with sports caps, and comes at a time when the Fairtrade market is continuing to grow at an annual rate of 15 percent.
"Almost half the homes in Britain bought Fairtrade food and drink products last year, and recognition is particularly strong among our core market of families with young children," said Richard Cooke, Calypso’s Sales and Marketing Director.
"Many primary schools now include projects based on the Fairtrade concept, so an increasing number of children now want to include a Fairtrade juice drink in their lunchbox."
Each counts as a daily portion of fruit under the government’s ‘5-a-day’ initiative.
